Dark and twisted

Post by Miamorswife »

I'm looking for the darkest, most psychologically twisted books you have ever read. They are my new favorite genre.

Hi! Bag of Bones by Stephen King sounds like the book!! It's dark and I found it psychologically disturbing. Hope you find it as good a read as I did.

Dark Matter but Blake Crouch is fun, dark, and twisted as a sci-fi action thriller.

I've heard 'Metamorphosis' by Franz Kafka is one such book falling in this genre, except I haven't really read it so I cannot give you a review.

"My Dark Vanessa" by Kate Elizabeth Russel was fantastic, but it is pretty graphic!

I also like dark and twisted books. My favorite books are by Stephen King, although the horror is mild in his books. I have heard that "Woom" by Duncan Walston was disturbing. I also heard that Survivor by JF Gonzalez is dark and brutal. I, however, have not read those two books the books I have read that are dark and twisted are 1. "The Push" by Ashley Audrain. This book was disturbing and a bit intense; however, it was very well-written and gripping. 2. "1922" by Stephen King was a fun, dark, and twisty read.

I hope these selections help you decide what to read next.

The level of extreme mystery, horror, and thrill begins from the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. You should give it a read. His stories like The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, The Murders at the Rue Morgue, and The Oval Portrait, are something to give a try!

Furthermore, read something by Stephen King. Although many people don't like his writings, if you're genuinely interested in reading horror and thrill, he might be the guy you're looking for.

As for the latest books, read How to Sell a Haunted House, by Grady Hendrix. You won't be disappointed.

The Lives Of The Mayfair Witches books, starting with The Witching Hour is pretty dark and twisted and possibly the best book I’ve ever read. It bears little resemblance to the show. I think it’s the sort of thing you’re looking for.
