Book recommendations based on La Dame Aux Camelias

Post by karmasarelaxingthought »

Hello guys,

Hope all of you are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

My mother's birthday is nearing and I am in dire need of assistance with picking out new books for her, however, since I'm not much of a reader myself, I decided to join the forum to take you guys' recommendations.

My mother is a huge fan of "La Dame Aux Camelias", therefore, I am looking for novels that are similar to it. Below I've listed some other novels that she loves:

1. Gone with the wind;
2. Jane Eyre;
3. East of Eden;
4. The master and margarita;
5. Gone with the wind
6. A thousand splendid suns;

I'm thinking of gifting her at least 3 books, therefore, I would take any recommendations that you guys can give me based on the above novels.

Thank you all very much in advance!

Best,

"Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert tells the story of Emma Bovary, a doctor's wife who becomes disillusioned with her mundane life. She dreams of romance and luxury, influenced by novels she reads. To escape her dissatisfaction, Emma has affairs and falls into debt, seeking the passion and excitement missing from her marriage. The novel delves into the dangers of idealizing love and the disillusionment that often follows. Flaubert masterfully portrays the tragic consequences of living beyond one's means and the confines of societal expectations.
