After having read and reviewed a couple of works of historical fiction related to World War II, I find myself wanting to read more fiction based in that time period. I would love recommendations from fellow readers.

I read a book called Tamar a while ago and it was very interesting. It starts off about a girl in present time but it goes back and forth between her life and her grandfather's life. Her grandfather fought in world war II and the book goes into moving detail about his experiences. There is an underlying mystery throughout the whole book that makes it an even more compelling read.

Do you remember the author's name? I find biblical references when I look up Tamar.

The book of the day The War Within, the story of Josef is a free download. It's a biographical story of a Polish teenager named Josef and his life during the Second World War. It sounds like a remarkable, eye-opening, and thought-provoking piece. I recommend checking out the review of it.

If you haven't read The Book Thief, I'd definitely recommend. Also The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and Salt to The Sea by Ruta Sepetys. All are very different from each other and really good
