Have you tried Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. It's a true story, and trust me, it's really good.

There are few periods of history darker than the Holocaust, so it is fitting that the world of Holocaust literature would be as vast as it is. Any book on the subject will help you to come to terms with it, which is something that we all need to do, but some books are better than others. The ones listed below will move you in a way that you will not soon forget.

I also did a review recently on a book called The Lambs of War. It's set in the Holocaust, but it's more about the characters than the gruesomeness. You can see into the minds of both sides. It's an escape story. It's pretty good. You might want to try it. Here's the review. forums.onlinebookclub.org/viewtopic.php ... mp;t=41980

Alecia is a great book about the holocost. It is an autobiographical look at Alecia's experiences through the events of the holocost. I hate to suggest the Diary of Anne Frank as im sure most have read it but it is one of my favorites. These both are more about personal experiences and fighting for life than the holocost itself.

The man who broke into Auschwitz; a true story of World War II tells the story of how Denis Lane voluntarily broke into the death camp for humanitarian reasons - more than once. Extraordinary.

Yes! I read that one in high school. It had some of the most powerful images. They still haunt me five years later.
