Hello All!,
I am looking for a new book or series, and can't decide which would best fit me. I haven't read much so far, but so far my favorites are (forgive my typical selections) The harry potter and Miss Peregrines series. I tend to flow more towards fantasy(specifically magic or "God/Wizard" type fantasy's), especially those that contain at least a bit of teenage or "butterfly" romance. I am thinking of doing A series of unfortunate events, though that doesn't have any romance. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would advise you to try Ursula K Le Guin's 'Wizard of Earthsea' books, and Marion Zimmer Bradley's 'Avalon' series (the latter especially if you are interested in Arthurian legends). Though they divide opinions, the 'His Dark Materials' series by Philip Pulman is also worth considering, and the young love between Will and Lyra is extremely touching.

I loved Harry Potter, but I thought the quality of the Ms. Peregrine's series deteriorated right after the first book. Regardless, I'd think you'd enjoy the following:

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Try the City of Bones series by Cassandra Clare. I love those books!

The False Prince by Jennifer Nielson
Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

You might try The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. It’s a few decades old, but is pretty highly acclaimed and definitely has a romance element.

I would like to second Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Also definitely read the Red Rising trilogy. Both of those are great reads!

Thirding Six of Crows and seconding Red Queen. They're both fantastic.

Eragon from Paolini could be a good fit for you. Also The Magicians by Lev Grossman. That one has many similarities to Harry Potter.

Heyy, try reading the infernal devices by Cassandra Clare, it's a 3 book series. The Vampire Academy or the Bloodline series by Richelle Mead are good too.

Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy is one of my all-time favorites. Absolutely recommend them (and if you saw The Golden Compass movie, that doesn't count ... it was considerably different than the book).

Seconding this and also what billaicher said. I don't understand why the Earthsea books aren't better known - I came to them quite late, in early adulthood, but I thought they were terrific.

Have you come across the late, great Terry Pratchett? His books are humorous, and might even be seen as taking the mickey, though I think it's more of affectionate tribute. And there's often a romantic interest, though not necessarily involving teenagers. Anyway, he might not be your cup of tea at all, but he's worth a look, if you've never come across any of his stuff.
