Hii guys, I'm Israel from Nigeria, I'm news here.. I've always been a movie guy and only started really reading literature a couple of months back, I'm happy to be part of this exciting community. I particularly love the horror genre, any recommendations on books I should try out?

Good ole Stephen King is a must. Dean Koontz is hair-raising, I won't read any more of his, personally, one was enough, but people love him and he's a great writer.

What sort of horror do you like? Psychological or gore? Funny or serious?

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King is a really good horror book. It is also one of his relatively new ones... Enjoy!

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson

I am a huge fan of Gothic and 19th century Horror. They do a great job of maintaining the sense of mystery and wonder, which I feel adds to suspense. There are also lots of interesting plots that you don't see anymore these days. I recommend authors like Lovecraft, Poe, Doyle, and Wells.

Clive Barker is by far my favorite horror writer. You should check him out.
