Something like Riryia, Name of The Wind, Black Prism, etc.

I like epic/dark fantasy, but some sci-fi is good too.
Aboslute favorites (with mini description): Riryia (great characters), Name of The Wind (beautiful imagery), Black Prism (paints imagination), stormlight archives, throne of glass (aboslutely thrilling and crazy twists), farseer trilogy/liveship traders, and tigana (beautiful and poetic writing).
The sci-fi I've liked so far are foundation (it's like chess with words) and we are legion we are bob (opens your mind to future tech).
Hated: hyperion (too preachy), the first law (boring), malazan (talks in circles and tons of run-on sentences).
