Re: What's your go-to genre?

I have two favorite go-to genres. The first one is romance suspense novels perhaps because I'm a romantic at heart, and, at the same time, I am attracted by suspenseful plots. For example, I'm drawn to novels in which there are love triangles, unsavory characters who masquerade as romantic figures, and sensual plots with a dark side to them. My other favorite genre is true crime. I've read a number of books by Ann Rule (what a shame she is no longer around), and I'm fascinated by the minds of people who commit senseless crimes and by people who, such as narcissists, who often feel their criminal behavior is justifiable.

My go-to is a good cozy mystery, a hot cup of coffee/cocoa, and a warm blanket. I also enjoy contemporary romance.

Horror and urban fantasy seems to do it for me.

Historical fiction or mystery. Really anything will do but a fun story line can be a wonderful (and dangerous) thing. I didn't need to get anything done this week but reading anyways....right?

YA fantasy novels are my current go-to. I know I may be a bit old for the genre at 25 years of age, but I just love them. More often than not there's a love interest, something magical, and loads of humor without being overly vulgar or sexually explicit. Don't get me wrong, a juicy romance novel is wonderful every now and again, but I don't become nearly as invested in the characters (and I do love my fandoms!).

A go-to genre always depends on my mood.. It travels from myster, suspense n fiction to romance on different days.. Suspense or mystery on the free days with nothing to do.. So the book captures the mind.. In a busy day for a break or mind refreshment romance is always a go..

I enjoy the thriller genre. The best part for me, is trying to figure out the mystery!

It depends on my mood!! Sometimes it is paranormal / urban fantasy and sometimes it is historical romance. There are times though that I prefer contemporary romance or books with crime solving and a lot of action.

My go to genre is definitely romantic mystery. I am a romantic at heart and always want to see some sort of romantic connections in stories, but just romance can be a bit bland sometimes so I love, love, love when there is a mystery or some sort of thrill thrown into the mix!

Personally, I love paranormal romance. I have always been a sci-fi nerd so I love anything paranormal. Werewolves, vampires, ghosts, beasts; you name it! I'm a major fan of Harry Potter. I never really jumped on the Twilight bandwagon, though.

I love to read dystopian fantasies. They usually combine action, thriller, and mystery all into one story. They are also usually faster paced.

I love either romance or horror. I like to switch it up a bit.
