My go to genre is also fantasy/adventure. I will sometimes go into Sci Fi as well depending on my mood. As a teen I was in love with Mercedes Lackey books. She really pulled me into the fantasy/adventure genre and I still pop open one of her books every now and then. Also a good memoir like 'The Glass Castle' can really draw me in as well.

Historical fiction, preferably from the Victorian era. I've read through soooooo much of that genre though that it's hard to find anything new  :D

My go-to genre will always be suspense thrillers. I consider J D Robb my go- to with the "In Death " series. I have read all of them. I am just waiting for February 2017 when the new one comes out. I love series books. The characters will forever go on and on. I love Jim Butcher, Karin Slaughter, Patricia Cromwell and so many other authors. :D

Since I took classes in YA literature years ago, a professor made the point that a YA novel is her favorite genre to read even as an adult, I began reading more YA then, and I agree, YA novels are real character studies, which can tell you a lot about our communities, allow creativity and exploration!
I also read a lot of autobiographies/biographies, I have always been a people person, and like to learn and connect through stories! :D

When finishing a book and knowing it's time to start looking for another, my "when-in-doubt" genre will always be fantasy. Dragons, princesses, magic, and heros pull you from your every day life, into a realm of infinite possibilities.

I switch back and forth between fiction and books on spirituality and Buddhism. Sometimes I’ll read two books—one from either genre. I can’t decide on the sub-genre of fiction I like most. They’re all so great.

Historical fiction or mystery. I have never been a fan of romance. I like thrillers sometimes, but I need to be careful or I will dream about it and that is sometimes not good!

My go-to genre is always Fantasy, whenever I'm not sure what to read next I'll wander over to the fantasy section and I can almost always be happy with what I find.

Right now it is non-fiction and historic fiction. Just finished America's Most Haunted Hotels by Jamie Davis Whitmer.. My historical fiction choice is Katherine of Aragon the True Queen by Alison Weir.
