If this were a movie, who would play Charlie?

Post by greenstripedgiraffe »

Who would play Charlie? Looking for someone who could be timid, but yet bold, could look sort of "normal." What else should describe who would play Charlie (or any of the other characters)?

Charlie - Natalie Dormer or Meghann Fahy
Sheila - Jennifer Aniston
Doug -
Scott -
Asa -
Amos -
Martha -

Renee Zellweger would be great in the role of Charlie.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

I would say that I can see Natalie Dormer better as Martha. Of all the roles I've seen her in, she's done the best when she's plotting and planning rather than reacting. Due to the nature of this haunting Charlie spends more time reacting to the ghosts while Martha initiates the action.

For Amos, I think I would like to see someone who has never done a horror movie. I'm imagining someone who is typecast as an action hero or comedian taking a step back and acting a bit awkward.

Great question! I am terrible with actors'/actresses' names, but for Asa, maybe Johnny Depp? He has that crazed-look (and sometimes creepy) about him, but can be attractive as well. And even though there are evil parts to Asa, there is still that conflict of him being not so bad and not really wanting to continue to hurt people. I think having someone who is known to be a bit out there, but well-liked will help the conflict people feel towards Asa.

I think Jack Nicholson would be perfect as Asa. Maybe Kathy Bates as Martha?

Those two would be great for Asa & Martha had they lived to be older, they were in their 30s when they died. ?

Indeed, but otherwise... 8)

Agreed. I had to amend this response because I thought about Amos' being so much younger than Martha. They would've had to have been in their 30s. Ha!
