Rating: 2 out of 4 stars

This book is one lie unfolding at a time. The beginning is quite confusing, and you have to read to the end to understand everything that happens. The book is written in different characters points of view. The different POVs give the reader an idea of what is going on inside the characters head, but I felt this book would be better with just one character’s point of view. The focus on the book is paranormal romance between demon and angel.

The peaceful town of Lochton, Illinois is attacked by a demon named Crighton Daemonium. He searches for wicked souls to add to Lucifer’s court. Benjamin Poe finds his son the target of this demon. In a battle of wills, Poe is tricked, ultimately murdering someone. Crighton is rewarded with the soul he was sent to get. Crighton continues to terrorise humans, until he is caught by the members of the Sovereign Sector, a group of scientists notorious for experimenting on supernatural creatures. They force Crighton into a soulmate relationship with an angel. The angel he was meant to retrieve for Lucifer.

Soon secrets are revealed, and loyalties are shifted. Now the target of Lucifer’s revenge, Crighton must start his journey to redemption and freedom. The book is perfect for people who love paranormal romance. The main characters are well developed. The book is mainly based on demons and angels.

The story begins slowly, but as you read on events abruptly start to unfold before your eyes. I most liked was the end of the book. Everything made sense at the end. What I disliked the most about this book was the fact that story felt as if it was different stories put together. The beginning got me lost.

I felt that the book needed to be in Crighton POV only. Having it in different characters POVs made the book extremely confusing. Therefore, a book like this gets 2 out of 4 , because the plot is great , but the character POV needed work.
