We are Voulhire: Someone Else's End, written by Matthew Tysz, is the third book in the 'We are Voulhire series.'

Although there was no physical altercation, Meldorath discovers a threatening entity to his authority. This person is referred to as the Emperor of Lullabies, who passes his thoughts with others through ideas and can also bend the supernatural powers hidden in the physical universe (Cosmos). Furthermore, it was disclosed that the Emperor and his people ''had a power over the physical world that even Siden and the other cosmites of Voulhire hadn’t the cerebral capacity to dream about.'' Meldorath, on the other hand, is just a mage and is only capable of bending the magic universe (Caromentis) and bringing its magic to the cosmos. Thus, due to the fact that Meldorath is presumed to be less powerful than the looming Emperor, one would wonder how he gets rid of the thoughts that influence him.

The King of Voulhire, Wilhelm, is presiding over a case on whether to help the refugees in the Lands of Princes or not. A young student by the name, Sophie Shore, was selected by her peers to represent the students of Menicrity University, who stood in advocacy for foreign refugees of the Lands of the Princes, and Voulhire's moral obligation to accept them. Conversely, the older Lawyers and Journalists debated against this, since the Lands of Princes is under the supreme authority of the Emperor of Lullabies, and as such, Voulhire does not wield commensurate power to fight the Emperor and subsequently, help the refugees. If they dare interfere, there will be nothing to stop the Emperor from bringing the conflict to their land. Seeing the two sides of the case, a reader will wonder how King Wilhem will proceed. Will he take the suggestion of being humanitarian like Sophie argued, or will he take the precautionary step as the older lawyers stated?

There were several things I loved in this book. Firstly, We are Voulhire: Someone Else's End is free of errors, and the characters were so relatable. Secondly, I loved it when Galen saved Demetrius from the hands of the scarecrows. This was particularly spectacular to me because Demetrius had told both Galen and Rowan to flee the scene and that he'd get rid of the creatures and join them in no minute. However, Galen just couldn't leave while his friend was in danger. I said to myself: "this is an accurate definition of friendship." (This second point is what I loved most.)
Lastly, I admired what Miss Shore represented. Especially how she bravely stood her ground and wittily rebutted the arguments of the lawyers. Despite all these, I was dissatisfied with the way this book ended. I feel Galen would have helped destroy the monster that rampaged the capital of Voulhire, Soulhire. Again, I disliked how the author switched from writing in the first-person narrative to writing in the third person narrative. I also found it hard to understand how Demetrius and Rowan spoke in the chapter titled 'Galen.' This was very confusing because there was no sign of a change in the narrator. As a result, I will rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars.

As stated earlier, I did not come across any errors as this book was professionally edited. On the other hand, I discovered a lot of profane words and no instance of erotic scenes.

This book will appeal to lovers of dark, magic, and fantasy novels. As such, I recommend it to them.
