Review by tawongaL -- The Raven's Trail (Book 1)
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Raven's Trail (Book 1)" by Liz D. Marx.]
There are times when we close our eyes and our sleep takes us to a dream, yet it seems so real that you can swear that it is. Chloe Doyle finds herself living a life so different, yet too real every time she falls asleep. But when she discovers an ancient stone while working in the museum, she has no idea her dreams will mage with her reality.
Raven’s Trail (book 1) by Liz D. Marx is the first book in its series. It depicts a story of two lovers bound by fate to cross paths. Liz D. Marx uses her descriptive writing to paint a picture so clear such that as you read, you can see everything in your own mind.
Mason, the male protagonist of the story finally finds some meaning to his life when he meets Chloe, but not all the pieces of the puzzle seem to be aligned. As a result, Mason grows weary of exposing his identity. Will he trust Chloe with the truth? The answer to this question is in the chapters of the book. You will have to read it to get your answer.
What I loved most about the book was the clarity of the writing style of the author Liz D. Marx. It made it easy for an African woman such as myself to easily understand the cultures of the indigenous Indians of North America described in the book. The author’s way of writing and description brought the characters of the book to life. Just as the characters of the book were spell bound so was I. From the moment I took the book and begun reading, I couldn’t put it down.
I cannot clearly state anything I disliked about the book. In all honestly, it was flawless just like the editing. I did not notice any errors. Therefore, my conclusion is that the book was professionally edited. Given the beauty of the story, the creative, descriptive writing style of the author, I hear by rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. 3 out of 4 stars will simply not be justice.
The book is a romance novel. It is not for children. Despite the fact that the book has no exaggerated erotic descriptions or profanity, I still recommend this book to anyone above the age of 15. With that being said, if you are anyone who loves a little bit of drama, magic and mystery, this is the right book for you. Pick it up and you won’t regret it. In fact, I assure you that you will be waiting with me for the next book in its series.

I was secretly hoping for the book to have exaggerated erotic descriptions, but it's good it doesn't. When I'm done reading "The Stolen Heir by Tayma Tameem", I'll read this. Thanks for the good review!!!

It's a great story. I love the diction of the writer: it's simple and easy to understand.
