Review by HaleyHardy -- Shadow Game by A.M. Adair
Shadow Game by A.M. Adair is suspenseful and thrilling. This book is about following a character through multiple, impossible missions that are daring and electrifying. The military accuracy is superb and really brings this book to life.
This book is positive in so many ways. There was great character development throughout the entire book. The imagery details really made me feel like I was able to visualize every aspect of the book. I really like how the author places humor in serious situations bringing light to the characters and how they deal with the stress of their job. The author also used religion of the extremists masterfully. It brings to the forefront why those actors are acting the way that they are. The author ensured that the mission was set out in detail so that an average person, with no military experience, could understand how complex planning goes into any operation within the military.
It is difficult to find any negative aspects to this novel. I do wish that the story would have been longer. I could not get enough of the story and wanted to keep reading as fast as I could. Although the story goes into great detail about planning and executing, the author could have spent more time explaining the planning phases of a mission to ensure the audience knows how important that phase is to a mission. However, the planning phases the author articulated were exhilarating and really captivated me. While reading this book I felt like I was in each scenario with each of the characters.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book had very little grammatical issues, and it was so easy to read. The book was definitely professionally edited. This book had me on the edge of my seat soaking in each line as fast as I could. There were marvelous descriptions of the enemy, which made me want to join the fight with the operatives.
I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who like reading about fictitious military operations. This book articulates the dangers we are facing in reality when it comes to extremist groups throughout our world. The author uses the power of teamwork to accomplish extremely hard goals. My happiness could not be plainer, I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. I will absolutely be asking my friends and family to read this book because it is such a wonderful read.
