Review by emidio125 -- Shadow Game by A.M. Adair
For those who enjoy exciting, adventurous and action-packed stories, I recommend Shadow Game by A. M. Adair. It's a thriller genre that narrates the story of a spy agent, who has to terrorism in Iraq.
In this story, we are introduced to Ellen Anderson, a special agent, who is sent to Iraq to fight terrorists. This time, her mission is to eliminate eleven targets to shoot in order to destabilize an organization a jihadist named ISIS. In order to get her mission successfully completed, Elle and her small CIA team will infiltrate themselves in Daesh to carry out the mission. However, Ellen, who is a lonely agent used to take all the responsibilities by herself, will have to learn to trust her colleagues and stop thinking that she can do everything by herself. Moreover, betrayal, passion and pain will be on their path until the end of this mission.
I would like to congratulate the author; she was able to use very well her own experience to develop this story; the details about the military information are very well structured in the story. Furthermore, this is a plot-oriented story; since much of the emphasis is directed on the actions of the story rather than other elements such as characters, which were not paid much attention to. The only character that was well developed was the main character. Therefore, it is a very exciting and captivating story, loaded with vivid descriptions. As an addition, the story is fast and easy to read, it can be read in one section not to mention that it glues in your mind; you hardly abandon this book without reaching the end.
I am rating this book with 4 out of 4 stars because I liked the idea behind the story and how it was written, the plot development, the great storyline and so on. I also did not find any mistakes; the book was really very well edited and written. For that, I congratulate the author and the publisher. There was nothing I disliked about the book, and I will be looking forward to the next book on the series.
To finalize, the story does have some instances of profanity, and because of that, I don't recommend this book to readers who are younger than eighteen years old. The book is loaded with vivid extreme scenes of violence that are not appropriate to kids or top people who are very sensitive to scenes of extreme violence. Therefore, I do recommend this book to readers that enjoy thrillers, suspenseful novel, action-oriented story and stories about spies and secret agents.
