We are Voulhire: The Flesh of the Mind by Matthew Tysz is the sixth volume of the series. The Kingdom of Voulhire has experienced many attacks throughout the series. This book reveals the aftermath of the attack on Cridaea by the Riva Rohavi. The Emperor of Lullabies has the kingdom under siege. The citizens were drowned in fear and anxiety. Lady Angela Velys plans to resist the emperor's invasion on Cridaea. In Soulhire, King Nartik has resisted the invasion.

The three friends, Galen, Demetrius, and Rowan are not together anymore. Galen had been absorbed into Caromentis during his fight with Meldorath. Rowan and Demetrius go to Diamora. They are recruited by Maido to fight against Folcro. Demetrius was glad that Galen was not there to stop him from doing anything. Will they survive the battle?

Javikun was a king in Voulhire centuries ago, but when he moved to Caromentis, he utilized his power to influence Caromentians. He ended up establishing a kingdom in Caromentis. Galen banished Meldorath from the Cosmos and he moved into Caromentis. Meldorath wants to build a kingdom in Caromentis just as Javikun has done. King Javikun Modius and Lord Meldorath don't see each other eye to eye. Galen tries to convince Meldorath and Javikun to save Voulhire from the invasion. Will he be able to pay the price of earning Meldorath assistance? Will they lay their differences aside and work together to liberate Voulhire?

Matthew Tysz uses descriptive and articulate tone to bring out an adventurous plot that is intriguing. There was great character development, and the perfect balance of characters in the story. Each character has been given a fair amount of screen time to excel. New characters use the third person point of view, while the characters that were in preceding books use first person point of view. The author skillfully uses humor. This is picked up in conversations between characters, and Rowan's point of view, that brings some form of ease during tense scenes. To enjoy and fully understand the plot in this book, be sure to read the previous books in the series. There were sexual scenes described, and use of profane language in the book. This makes me rate eroticism in the book as 2 on a scale of 0-5. The book does not bear any religious biases.

What I liked most about the book is the author's vivid descriptions of various scenes and characters. The author unveiled his plot steadily engaging me till the close. What I disliked most about the book is that the story prolongs needlessly, with long conversations that are unnecessary. Scenes in Beth's world and the section between Bob and Ralph are just an example. The PDF file I received lacked page numbers. This made it tedious to locate the page with the information I need. The above reasons are why I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars.

The book is well edited, and I didn't find any errors or typos as I read the book. I recommend the book to lovers of fictional and fantasy novels. I do not recommend it to children and sensitive audiences since the book has violence scenes.

Nice review, car-mbz. Thanks. I got the insight of the book. I am about to take this for a review. Somehow, I missed the previous one. So I wish to grab a full version to read. Though, I managed with reviews and moving to The Flesh of the Mind. I feel sad to know the trio: Galen, Rowan, and Demetrius had to depart and move on. Let me gather more of the story, and I wish I will know what made them to do so!
