Some of us are incredibly fortunate to have our grandparents play a part in our childhood. Just like our parents, they have an important role in molding us. I still remember the shopping excursions, the make-up adventures, the late-night storytimes, and the study sessions that I had with my grandmother. Truthfully, I always aspired to be her doppelganger. She was someone I admired and loved with all my heart. I was devasted when we lost her. It was so sudden. She was only in her late forties. I was just twelve. It is said that time heals everything. To be honest, somethings can never be healed. I still miss her and resent the universe for taking her away. Still, I feel lucky to have her in my life for that short period of time.

Love, Grandma by Ann Morris opened the gates to those cherished times again. Reading about grandma's adventures with Payton and Haley brought bittersweet tears to my eyes. It reminded me of all the fun times we used to have. Grandma enjoys dress-up sessions, makeovers, coloring pavements, playing with toys, dances, and sleepovers with her precious granddaughters. They are her pride and joy.

Grandma's love for her granddaughters is evident on every page of the book. Payton and Haley are indeed lucky to have her in their lives. Grandma leaves no stone unturned to make them happy.

I have to mention that the illustrations are perfect for the book. They are in pretty pastel colors that match the tone of the book. David Gnass does a pretty good job. I did not find a single error. The book is perfectly edited.

I like the concept of the book. It depicts a grandmother's love for her grandchildren. Children reading this book would learn to appreciate their own grandmothers. The book is written in a simple rhyming pattern. The writing style and illustrations would hold the interest of young children. This way they can enjoy the book and also learn about the love showered on them by their grandmothers. I really like this about the book.

Keeping in mind the pros and cons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is a perfect book for children between six to twelve years of age. Adults might also enjoy this book as it brings forward the nostalgia of childhood.
