E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer is an action-packed novel. The book contains themes of modern warfare, technology, and terrorism. The book shares a beautiful story of a newly wedded couple, Kelly and Tom, on their honeymoon in Honduras.

Kelly, Senator McBride’s baby sister, on her way to The Pigsty shop, runs into an undercover terrorist operation. She was to pick up gifts to send to her nephews and nieces. This undercover operation turns out to be more dangerous than she had imagined, both for America and the world at large. With the help of her husband, two female detectives, a CIA agent, and Major Sky Eastman, they embark on a journey to diffuse the catastrophe before it blows up. Would the mission be a success? Would this be the end of her romantic honeymoon? Read this book to find out more.

I enjoyed how the author was charismatic in her expressions. These made the book an excellent read for me. The story was narrated from a third-person perspective, using a descriptive and straightforward style of writing. The development of the minor and major characters was exceptional. My favorite character is Kelly. She portrayed the crucial role of exposing the activities of the terrorists. She was bold in threading dangerous paths to spy on the terrorists and put an end to them. I respect her act of bravery.

The flow of the story was seamless. I felt ever-present in the role-play of the characters. There were a lot of captivating dialogues between the characters, especially the conversations involving the female detectives. I commend the author for a very striking sub-plot that balanced up the storyline. This showed how well researched the author was when writing the story.

However, there are a few things I dislike about the book. I noticed a bit of impracticality regarding the roles played by some characters. I felt some characters did not live up to their implied personalities. The story was also fast-paced, and significant occurrences that were meant to be addressed were summarized in the author’s note. For this reason, I am rating E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom 3 out of 4 stars.

In summary, I enjoyed reading the book. The book had one grammatical error, but that did not affect my reading comprehension. I am recommending this book to lovers of adventure, action, and crime novels.
