Whether you’re in need of some friendly, Christ-centered advice or simply in need of a new take on the modern workforce and how to tackle it, you are in luck! Fast Starting a Career of Consequence by Fred Sievert is a magnificent read, chock full of useful information and quotes necessary to provide an in depth look into incorporating Christian practices into the everyday modern work life of any and every individual. Sievert captures the norms an individual in the workforce of any job deals with on a regular basis, whether it’s an everyday nuisance or an everyday anxiety in the workplace. Throughout the book, Sievert manages to add in perfectly placed quotes from the Bible itself as well as Christ-centered help for any and all issues that could arise when entering the workforce or while already in the workforce.

The most influential and positive aspect to the book is how relatable Sievert makes the chapters. From fresh out of college graduates to the unemployed sticking their toes back into the workforce, the book truly adheres to anyone and everyone of all backgrounds. On page 21, Sievert goes into the need to help fresh out of college graduates which being a fresh out of college graduate myself, truly appreciated. I myself found quite a few instances I had been in whether that be at home or at work, that Sievert touched upon and positively influenced the incorporation of Christ into such situations. The positive impact of the strategically placed Bible quotes and the relatable sections of the book truly made this enjoyable and knowledge-filled book worth a read!

When it comes to anything negative in regards to this book, no such thing truly sticks out like a sore thumb. Initially, the pace was a bit difficult to follow; however, that was for a brief few pages before the book leveled out into the calm pace it maintained.

I give this book an honest 3 out of 4 stars. The book was fantastic from start to finish, with only a few minor things here and there that rushed the pace and veered off the topic. With those things in mind, the book soon leveled out and became calmer to read. Strategically placed Bible quotes on pages 41 and 42 truly showcase how unique the book is on its take of incorporating a religion-based work therapy. While knowledgeable, relatable, and understanding, this book will provide a sense of comfort despite all the anxieties and frustrations the workplace can bring.

Overall, this book is most appropriate for audiences of a Christian-centered background, or those curious in the religious department with a focus on careers. Typically, this audience would include any and all individuals entering or reentering the workforce. However, the book’s advice and information centers around religious-based guidance which would be suitable for individuals with a Christian-based background looking to further use Christ-centered guidance in regards to careers and the workforce.
