How to be succesful. by curtis m. Mccoy is that book about success which does not clearly explain the context of success, there is no clear definition that the author has provided. From the read one can deduce that it applies to over all success, if you want to be successful in anything then by applying the general principles mentioned in this book may lead you to success, but it does not guarantee a specific purpose like how to be successful in business or how to be successful at your college.

Mr mccoy tells us how to be successful, but instead it should be how some people i know became successful. Most of the book is about the different interview he takes with some successful people, these people are quite succesful in their own regard but everyone shares a different kind of success than their counterparts, and also percieve success and the meaning of it differently , they all live by different philosophies in their lives. Altough having one thing in common is that they all are very religious, also all are christians and read bible regularly. It can also imply that religious people are very successful or christians in particular are very successful. Which limits its approach to a larger audience.

The author does back the principles he found with any research per se, instead he happens to have made a questionaire asking the same questions from all of his interviewies, questions such as "when did you think that you have become successful" or " what mistakes you have made in your life" and " what advice would you give to your 18 year old self" among a variety of questions that did very little to help with the methods to success.

The author himself contributes very little of his own. He does not share his own peraonal story nor does he explain the true context of the book. Altough there are some chapters that focus on time management, self disipline etc which i think are important for success but these things are the very basics . There is no research, No studies and no scientific evidence whatsoever. Also it overly emphasises on religious aspects that some people may not agree upon. It tries to engage with the audience but it clearly lacks a formula or a single binding idea that holds the ideas in the books together.

For me this book is just not so informative or motivating. For me its just 2 out of 4.
