Daniel Christopher is a pilot for a tourist company in the Grand Canyon. He feels like his career is stuck, and he has small hope of ever moving on to anything better. Fortunately, he receives a call from his best friend, Allen, who tells him to join him in Alaska for a new flying job. Without hesitating, Daniel boarded a plane from Arizona to Alaska to take this life-changing opportunity. This was all he wished for, an opportunity that enables him to get more flying hours so that he gets a chance to fly for a major airline. When he starts his new job, he realizes that the climate in Alaska can be daunting to a young pilot like himself. This raises questions and doubts. Will he overcome adversity?

The Last Bush Pilots is a thrilling adventure novel written by Eric Auxier. It follows an exciting career of a young pilot by the name of Daniel Christopher. This book is very enchanting and engrossing. Once I started reading it, I did not feel like putting it down. It evoked vivid and lively mental pictures of the experiences faced by Alaskan pilots.

The plot of this book was well crafted. The protagonist was excited to find a new, exciting job. Little did he know that it came with its quirks. As a reader, I learned and grew with him as he tried to find solutions to the problems he went through. The dialogue was skillfully constructed. It felt natural and realistic. The most impressive thing about this book was the vivid descriptions. The author’s writing painted a clear picture of what was happening at the moment. He used descriptive language, and I was able to make memorable mental pictures while reading this novel. No matter the subject: weather, aircraft, or rock climbing, the descriptions made me feel like I was right there with the characters.

I must warn that female characters in this book have weird roles, and it will rub some readers the wrong way. The female characters were not given any significant roles in the story. For instance, Stephanie is a clingy ex-girlfriend. Holly's authority is undermined by her male colleagues.

There is nothing that I disliked in this book. It had memorable characters, an engaging plot, and a well-chosen setting. The author did an exceptional job with the editing. With all that in consideration, I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Adults who enjoy reading adventure novels should give this book a read. It contains sexual content and the use of profane language; therefore, reader discretion is advised.
