Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France is the second book in its series by the author Michael C. Higgins. The author educates us about the wine regions of the world. It is not just any ordinary book, as it not only tells us about the wine regions or the wine but also tells us about the history of wine, castles and the French way of living. Not only does the book contain valuable information but also has impressive images that make you want to explore all the places that are mentioned in the book. In other words, the book isn’t just about the wines but what to look for and do in a specific area.

In short, it contains everything that it states on the cover page that is “Discover wine, food, castles and the French Way of life”. It is a treat to the eye. The writing sequence of the book makes it perfect to be a guidebook. The author specifies the route that he would take if he had to explore the places. It also contains maps and landmarks. The index at the end also makes the book an easy-to-use guide. Apart from all this, the author also shared the contact details of the hotels which makes it even more beneficial.

There are a lot of things that I loved about this book. Firstly it was about the tone that was used by the author to address the readers. It felt as if I was having a face to face communication. I also loved the way he suggested things that the reader must try out or the places one must visit. The best part about this reading process was that it never felt too much. It was accurate and there wasn’t even a single time where I doubted his expertise. Opening the book itself gave me pleasure, I was impressed by the first page itself.

The book is professionally edited and the book has stunning images that made it more interesting. I have nothing negative to share about the book. I cannot think about anything that I disliked in the book. It is the best travel guide, with so many interesting facts and history.

I would rate the book a 4 out of 4 stars. To summarise, the book was just perfect. I would recommend the book to everyone irrespective of their drinking habits. I guess that it will be a perfect companion for any wine lover that wants to discover Bordeaux, the wine capital.
