Review of Speedy hurled through havoc
Have you discovered your passion? Have you followed your dream? How many of us did? Speedy hurled through havoc is a memoir by Dave Letterfly Knoderer that narrates the author's journey to fulfill his dreams. The book contains details of the author's adventures and achievements in his career as a circus performer, a high school horse trainer and a signpainter. The author introduces us to the many friends he made on his journey and emphasizes how they supported him to attain his goals.
The author also introduces us to his family members and describes their personalities and how they affected him. He tells us how important his father is to him and there is a part in the book that narrates the childhood and early adulthood of the author's father. The father and son both are artists and both had the same passion for the circus. But unlike his father the author was determined to choose his passion.
The insistence of the author to join the circus and do what he loves in spite of the challenging obstacles is uplifting. It throws the light on the fact that our talents and gifts are our strengths to succeed. I can only admire the author's ambition that wasn't limited to his career, he also strived to improve his relationship with God, become a better person and live a happier life. What I liked about this book as well is the author's faith in God and how this reflected positively on him. He isn't at all obsessed with what he didn't get, but appreciates the good things God sent him and understands that God is always near.
I believe the book was professionally edited, as I found only two minor errors. The author's narration is intriguing and his descriptive writing is effective and brings the book alive. Although I really enjoyed reading this book, I sometimes felt the need to skim through due to the repetition of things. I also would have loved a bit more dialogue in the book. All in all, I find the book valuable since there are a lot of straight forward positive messages that this book gives to its readers. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
A great thing about this book is that the author approaches God's grace apart from any institutional religion, so any one can read this book and benefit from its morals. This book would appeal to people who like non-fiction books and who would like to read a story of achievement. I would highly recommend this book to people who need motivation and inspiration to pursue their dream.
