Review of How To Be Successful
Do you consider compendious comfort bush-league than achieving a preeminent goal, such that a new suit or tool is more valuable than three meals and a dormitory each day? The self-help novella How to be successful: think like a leader, authored by M. Curtis McCoy, is a miscellany of unfeigned stories and conversations that will succour you to achieve success and gain a better understanding of the keys to a prosperous, balanced, and fulfilling life. In his writing style, the word slinger perspicaciously adumbrates the story, followed by the problem and possible perspective unravelment.
Additionally, some of these motifs are pertinent to striplings as well, such as six keys to building quality relationships, improving attitudes, developing winning qualities, and finding a hobby. Having been diagnosed as a type-1 diabetic and a brain cancer survivor, McCoy draws from a wealth of personal learning experiences and speaking engagements into his valuable input as an entrepreneur, business-development expert, influencer, and keynote speaker. A malignant glioblastoma diagnosis sent him seeking alternative medicine in Tijuana, Mexico. He was graciously blessed with a second chance. It is of interest to note that he lists some genuine quagmires and perils that could be avoided hereupon.
Starting on the path to melioration requires culpability, as stated by the ink slinger. It is constitutive that we all make a concerted effort to surround ourselves with positive influences and other successful individuals in order to increase our chances of ascendancy. In this compendium, readers will find individualized sets of interview answers interspersed between parts on: delayed gratification and building quality friendships. With the help of a 15-line questionnaire, McCoy provides eight different mentors and business professionals with collective responses from their diverse perspectives. In addition to interviews with professional superjocks, revivalists, wealthy investors, inventors, expert negotiators, and ex-convicts who are now entrepreneurs, they all acknowledge that the most important characteristics include demureness, modesty, earnestness, answerability, assiduousness, determination, rectitude, integrity, and self-discipline. Persistent tenacity and an indomitable spirit are critical, and while it is true that failure makes you stronger, it is also obligatory to know when to abdicate and wend.
In like manner, the content is composed in a limpid and conversational tone. Per contra, it references Biblical principles, scriptural references, and the power of prayer in the Christian faith. In the potboiler, there is an overtone to the inkling that atheists may own and operate businesses, but only Christians will be successful long-term. Thusly, religiously sensitive readers should be warned antecedently. In light of the aforementioned promulgation, I rate this book three out of four stars.
All in all, it makes for a psychedelic read. I believe this book would be an excellent resource for those who are looking to start their own business or who are unhappy with their career and life situation.
