The novel,(i) The Legacy of Job's wife,(/i) is based on the biblical story of Job. The reader gets the story from the point of view of Job's wife, Ix'ises. She grows up among family and friends in a close-knit community. Ix'ises then marries her childhood friend Job. The first part of her marriage is blissful as she gives birth to ten children whilst Job grows in both wealth and fame. He is an honest and hardworking man famed for his diligence in business. He is also compassionate as he helps the less fortunate around him.

It seems that happiness is all Ix'ises will know until, one day, tragedy strikes and she ,together with her husband, lose almost everything in one day. Ix'ises is inconsolable. Due to the turn of events, she questions her faith in God, but Job holds fast to his faith despite all his tribulations. His faith and love for her eventually results in Ixises accepting their tribulations and forgiving those who wronged them.

I liked this novel because it addressed everyday issues most people are dealing with like loss and acceptance. It is also a story about second chances. Several characters in the book get second chances for instance Hannah. It is also a story about the importance of family in tribulations. B'nahram comes through for both his father and his sister Ix'ises.

I could not find anything that I did not like about this book as the story line was easy to follow and I could relate to Ix'ises' problem. The book was also professionally edited and for that I am giving this book a (b) 4 out of 4 (/b).

I would recommend this book to all those who are going through loss and failing to deal with it, and also to those who need to forgive and make sense of misfortune.
