I Know My Way Memoir by Theresa Marafito with Linda Odubayo Thompson is a heartwarming life story of Theresa, born with visual disability. Theresa shares her life experiences and the challenges she faced being partially blind which transitioned to total blindness. Being surrounded by loving and supporting people, she dealt with all the ups and downs of her journey with endurance.

As a young girl, Theresa struggled hard to prove that she was just like the other students but her vision was not strong enough to keep up with. She faced bullying and was manipulated in her young age and she decided to move forward in life. Theresa met the love of her life, Jerry, when she graduated and had two daughters with him, Linda and Nance. They faced financial crisis for a long period of time but came past from that too in the coming years. Gradually, her vison was completely damaged and she saw darkness for the rest of her life. Theresa's life took a turn when her beloved husband was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, her life turned upside down but there was more to come.

Theresa's sense of humour is commendable and it never got faded in the book. Something that grabbed my attention was that the title of every chapter was a song of 1900s and it was related to the experiences that Theresa wanted to share. According to Theresa, she always needed Jerry, who was a pillar to lean on, but the way she faced all the misfortunes and opportunities made me feel that she was the pillar herself.

The book has taught me a lot about endurance and life. Moreover, it has made me believe that every test can be passed no matter how dreadful it seems. There was nothing that I disliked about the book.

I Know My Way Memoir is a well edited book as there were not any errors. There are no profane words used in the story. I would rate it as 4 out of 4 stars because it was a flawless read. I would recommend this book to readers who are into realistic themes and also to those who may be dealing with people who have vison disabilities.
