Review by jomana_3 -- The Mindset by Ace Bowers
The Mindset is a non-fiction book written by Ace Bowers. In this book, the author shares with us his journey from being a minimum wage janitor to being a millionaire. He also shares with us his extremely difficult childhood and upbringing, and he lets us take a peek into his life with its ups and downs, from being an 8-year-old kid to being 32 years old. Throughout the book, Ace tells us how he has changed his mindset into a healthier one, and how has this mindset change his life for the better. In addition, he tells us about the people who have helped him be where he is now and stood by his side at his lowest. He also shows us how much he appreciates the presence of these people in his life.
The book was really engaging and interesting, which made me finish reading it in only one sitting. It got sad at some times and happy at other times, and I felt attached to the author. Furthermore, there were some really useful and practical tips that I believe could actually help people and give them hope and motivation. I have found only one error in the book; therefore, I can say it was edited well.
The first 60 pages of the book were very interesting and absorbing; however, I found the rest of the book to be a little boring, and it gave nothing new. Moreover, I have expected more information and details from the author about how he has become a millionaire, but instead, he has talked more about his life, and thus, it is safe to say that this book is more of a memoir than a self-help book.
I give The Mindset 3 out of 4 stars, and that is because I have expected more from it; nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read in general, and I have learned some crucial and important things from it. Moreover, I have learned a lot from the mistakes of the author and the people surrounding him.
I recommend this book to people who are searching for a quick read, as this book is perfect for that matter. The Mindset is also a recommended read for people who are seeking success, whether it is having a happy and healthy life and family, or being wealthy—or both. However, if you are hoping for a quick and easy way to become rich, maybe this book is not for you.
