Review of Stolen Redemption
Stolen Redemption by R.B Alonso is a fictional story with a very direct storyline about a corrupt officer trying to eliminate a drug dealer off of false and invalid murder charges. The book also has exemplars of how the society used to discriminate over race. The story revolves around characters from a small town called the Little Soho.
Adrian Powell, a black drug dealer, who once got into a dispute with two addicts falls prey to their trap of purgatory as an act of vengeance. The addicts set up a corrupt police officer to do the deeds, while he doesn't necessarily want to perform the act of elimination himself, he frames Powell in a false accusation.
R.B Alonso keeps the readers engaged throughout the book via a dramatic turn of events. A good book is the one which plays with the readers mind onto thinking that the story is leading towards their anticipated path when it actually isn't. Stolen Redemption is one such knockout. The book had me astonished at the end. The story ended with an impact on my mind on as to what would happen next and will there be a sequel to it, which defines a good book. The author's lucid and detailed description of events adds spice to the book. To exemplify, his vivid narration of every flee and/or fight occurance activated my imagination. When penning down a fight scene, the audience must participate in constructing the fight scene from the writer's clues and seeing it play out in their mind’s eye. That’s a lot more difficult than getting it fed to you visually. And R.B Alonso truly mastered this skill.
The two distinctive hallmarks I appreciate the most about the book are: the suspense and unexpected events in the storyline. When it comes to writing fiction books, these quadrate with each other. The anticipation keeps the reader curious to know what happens next, which makes the book captivating and engaging.
All in all, I would give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It was an action-packed book with tremendous yet easy to understand language. The book was well written, as I saw no grammatical or punctuation errors. The book teaches us some valuable lessons like there is nothing greater than forgiveness and that one should choose their circle of people wisely. And even if we fail to do so, the book tells us how should we deal with it and what should we not do. Stolen Redemption highly reminds us of how we don't value the things we have and that we should cherish every bit of it before it's too late.
I would totally recommend the book to everyone inclined towards a good crime fiction. The book wouldn't be suitable for a younger audience due to the steady use of foul terms.
