Out in the Blackwater country, Lonnie Bowers has managed to create a safe haven for his family away from his past life of infiltrating the most notorious drug cartels of South America. Unfortunately for him, "the cartel never forgets". A sicario finds his way to Lonnie's backyard and after a failed assassination attempt, he is forced to reconsider his choice for a home. With the murder of his brother Gus, Lonnie is forced to abandon his family as well as his ranch. On the run from the law and possibly the cartel, Lonnie must find out who wants him dead and who murdered his brother in order to clear his name and regain the peaceful life he worked so hard to build.

An intriguing story with every word, every sentence and every conversation you will read. The Fugitive by David Griffith is truly exceptional with a detailed action narrative. From the description of the natural environment to the movement's of the characters, The Fugitive paints the picture for the reader as easily as it narrates the story. An important aspect to note are the Christian values shared by both Lonnie and his wife Clarissa and how they impart these values to their children. In a nut she'll, David Griffith is a master in the art of story telling and The Fugitive is proof of that.

A good as the book is, the mystery behind the story sort of gets lost along the way. The title gives away half of the story line, (which isn't exactly a bad thing), readers may get the feeling that they have read or watch the same story some where before. Readers who have watched a lot of action packed movies may compare The Fugitive to a John Rambo movie or even the movie with the very same title as the book The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford. There will be times when one will prefer to fast forward to the end which I strongly advise against.

I rate The Fugitive 3 out of 4. The book is a good read. It takes readers on adventure without having them leave their comfort zones.

Strongly recommended for anyone who loves action, thrill and adventure as well as a kind and empathetic hero.
