It’s hard to believe a book like The Defeat of COVID wouldn’t have been on the market a year ago, but 2020 busted open a can of worms nobody was ready for. In this scientifically based book, Colleen Huber discusses all things COVID-19 including masks, vaccines, lockdowns, alternative remedies, and everything in between. The author made it clear that the purpose of compiling all this data was to help provide some type of solution to this worldly pandemic.

From the summary, I thought this was going to be an easy read but boy was I wrong. Although I should have known better when the author used over 500 medical studies that this was going to read like a textbook. A very boring and difficult to read textbook. Throughout this whole COVID pandemic, I’ve noticed everyone is quick to point fingers at who did what wrong. Unfortunately, the author falls into that category. The truth of the matter is no one knew how to properly deal with the virus because we’ve never had anything like it in this modern age. So yes, more people might have died than necessary, but I trust our medical professionals did their best with the tools and knowledge they had available.

Even though this book used a lot of difficult-to-understand medical terms, the author makes it crystal clear she did her research. Which, if you’re going to write an entire book on one of the hottest topics of the century, you better do your research if you want it to be taken seriously. As I previously stated the book uses medical jargon, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t provide easy, everyday practices to follow to help keep you and your family safe. Who knew something as simple as upping your Vitamin D and Zinc intake could keep us healthy against a fatal virus?

Due to the difficult to understand nature of this book, I rate The Defeat of COVID 2 out of 4 stars. It’s extremely hard for me to look past the advanced medical writing but if you can trudge your way through it, then I recommend you pick up this book at least once. Especially since this does provide an unbiased, scientific viewpoint on how to combat COVID-19. Even though I won’t be reading this again, I believe many people could learn potentially life-saving information, which makes it worth the read. This book was professionally edited since I didn’t come across any typos or grammatical errors.

Anyone with a medical background could definitely understand and reap the benefits of this book. They would probably enjoy it a little more too. The author didn’t write this book solely for the medical community which is why anyone looking for more information on COVID could benefit from reading it. It also goes without saying this is a book geared towards adults with a college reading level. Please don’t let the amount of information or verbiage scare you away. In the end, you just might learn something to help fight the biological nightmare of COVID-19.

This book seems very informative. With the COVID pandemic going on, I think this book would have been a must-read had it not been for the medical terms. A book in layman language is easier to understand and preferable. Thanks for the great review.

I honestly couldn't agree with you more! To be able to reach more people, especially those who need access to information like this, you need to speak so more people can understand it.

This pandemic has been disastrous and we could use all the knowledge we can get on how to stay safe. It's a pity one needs a medical background in order to understand this book because I would have loved to read it. Thanks for the wonderful review.

That's what I'm saying!!! The author should have known that for this book to reach the people it needed to they needed to use less medical and more simplistic terminologies.
