Fear Not, Dream Big & Execute: Tools to Spark Your Dream and Ignite Your Follow-Through by Jeff Meyer is a book to give you guidance on your path to achieve your dream. It also helps you to find your calling if you don’t quite know what it is that you want to do. It steers you in the right direction to find something that you love and are good at so you can also feel good about yourself. It’s broken down into bite-sized pieces so even if you don’t have much time, you can read a chapter, think over the points and practice some things along the way until you read the next chapter and get a new idea. Jeff Meyer even invites you to read the chapters in any order that you feel works for you.

The book is filled with many tips including defeating negative self-talk, procrastination and kindly helps you to be honest with yourself about shortcomings with concrete strategies to improve. I enjoyed the personal stories he shared, like hiking a mountain with his daughter. He describes the whole experience, including other travels and adventures. I found it very inspiring.

It was a pretty upbeat and positive book, there wasn’t much negative in it, other than how to overcome negativity that you receive from other people who don’t support your dream. The only constructive criticism I could give is that the author writes the book from the perspective of a leader so if you have no desire to be a leader I guess that could be a negative aspect.

I give Fear Not Dream Big & Execute: Tools to Spark Your Dream and Ignite Your Follow-Through 3 out of 4 stars. Even if you don’t think you want to find a dream to pursue, or you’ve already achieved your dreams there is still tons of useful information in this book. There are many examples of good habits to put into practice or show you a different perspective on things. I did a lot of highlighting while reading this book.

I really think anyone would benefit from this book but if I had to suggest a recommended audience I would have to say people who have a dream and need help along the way to achieve it. Especially people who didn’t pursue their dream, took a path they thought was more realistic and regret it.
