Eggstravagant Easter Eggs is a book written by Maya Elston that provides over 200 stylish Easter egg designs you may need for Easter decoration. The author does not just provide these egg designs simply because she read or learnt somewhere, but because she has done this art of making Easter egg designs successfully. She provides a brief history behind egg painting, that it has meaning in each country. She talks about choice of eggs where she says there are various types of birds with their eggs but she focuses on chicken eggs which are readily available and artificial eggs made of wood or plastic and gives the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of the eggs. She also lists the materials, tools and equipment needed with the aid of images before she narrows down to the methods and techniques of decorating.

In the methods and decorating techniques the author provides, I like their structure since she gives clear images for each decoration technique she explains and under these images are brief descriptions of the images presented. These images speak louder since they are a summary of the author’s descriptions. I found this book very entertaining as I read it because of these images and the beautiful designs depicted in them. Although these images may look amazing to children, the author says most of the projects in this book are not for children. The images also serves as breakpoints from reading too long of the descriptions.

The author mentions some of the mistakes she made on her projects so that others may avoid them. She also lists her source of the different types of eggs she used on her projects not forgetting the websites she lists where you can get techniques done. I dislike nothing in this book, it was written and written well.

If you wish to make egg decorations for your Easter, then you should go through this book. It is entertaining and educative. I found few grammar errors therefore I conclude that the book was professionally edited and for this reason I rate it four out four stars

I recommend this book to them that are interested in doing such kind of art, the kind of Maya Elston’s stylish Easter egg designs. However, the book is not for children and even the author says so as I mentioned above or rather, they should do it under adult supervision and care.
