Donja is moving to another city and her life begins to change in ways she couldn`t imagine. What is hiding in the deadly silence of the night? Will she be able to overcome all the fears with the man she loves and give him a chance? These are some of the questions that went through my head as I reed page by page the life changes that this goth girl in transition made. And why do I say transition? Well as every teen searches themselves this girl bravely used make-up and goth to hide behind her fears and the loss of a family member until she got to know her new sister Makayla.

Reading the beginning of the book Chasing the red queen by Karen Glista I thought that it was another cliché, but I was so wrong. The book made my head turn for 360 degrees and that wasn`t even the end of it. I liked it so much I needed to read it one more time. The life of a young girl changing and her finding herself back in a new city where she had ancestors she never knew about. The mystery and chase, love and have, who to trust and who not. This book teaches you everything.

The passion and the love between the main characters are intense and you never know what's next, so it rather keeps you going and wanting more. Karen Glista gave her characters the intensity that this book requires. And that was one of the many reasons I liked this book so much. Donja and Torin have the bond and love most girls would die for, for them, the other is the world and in my opinion that was perfectly put on paper by the author. Another thing is that the major part of the scenes in the book are described in every possible detail that I could imagine the picture perfectly.

However, I didn`t like the beginning of the book. The first few pages don’t have the same energy and the same rhythm of the entire book. I can even say they are slightly boring, but if you decide to continue the reading, wow. Another negative aspect in my opinion is that I would have loved it if the book had more alone scenes with couples. Other than that the book is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone.

Said so I'm giving this book 3 out of 4 stars . , only because the beginning doesn`t add up to the whole experience of the book. As I said before I would recommend it to everyone in the Sci-Fi community that loves a touch of old-school romance.
