I haven’t read the first instalment of the series “Stained Fortune” but this book makes me want to! The first chapter was so captivating and slowly revealed what mayhem and drama was to come. The twists and turns in the book are so surprising and unexpected. It is professionally written and is so intriguing throughout. The long complex sentences can be a bit wordy and hard to understand at times but it just adds to the fast paced environment of the book. I love how fast paced it is as it never gets boring. It is rare for me to find a book that maintains my attention throughout but Mr. Calderwood’s book is amazing. I think I will be ordering the next instalment when I can. I hope the third book uses the senses as well as the second because I was so immersed into a fictional life. I loved the use of touch, sight, sound and touch, it was like I was truly a character in the book. An impressive skill on the authors behalf.

The character development was amazing, it was like I was there watching their personalities grow more complex and interesting. The main character, Clint Kennedy, was actually quite a likeable character despite his quite stoic nature. But his relationship with his father and brother was interesting to say the least and his devotion was heart warming.

I think you can tell that the book has also been professionally edited as it doesn’t contain any major explicit content despite its mature themes. It’s definitely important to keep in mind that any young readers should probably stay away from this book.

After reading the book, I definitely rate it 4 out of 4 as the writer has such an impressive style of writing which makes me want to read the entire book in one sitting. Can’t wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed reading this book but it's a shame I missed the first book in the series. I have to admit you did its review great justice.
