How to be successful is an inspiring book by M. Curtis Mc Coy. I am immediately captured by the author's personal story that relates to our lives. His use of illustrations worked for me. It helped me relate and be able to understand his message. Different relatable themes played a part in the book, such as homelessness, bankruptcy, wealth, investment, and health, to name a few. They made me want to read more.

I loved how the author takes the reader back to the basics of wealth creation plainly and simply. For example, he mentions that you need to create a solution and risk short-term comfort. He also goes on to say that your state right now is a result of your past decisions.

As I began reading his interview, to some point, I got somehow bored. And for a couple of pages into his interview, I began to feel like he was bragging. But as I read on, I got hooked and wanted to know more. I began to see his point. From my point of view and as a young and budding entrepreneur, his advice was so profound. His choice of words was exactly what I needed to hear.

When asked about some of the tough commitments he had made, his interview section explains how he and other partners, including his parents, had to go through tough financial times. It took them three years to build their company, Best Cellular, in a very competitive environment. This has taught me that nothing comes easy. It's through persistence, hard work, and patience that you are finally able to see some tangible results and eventually achieve success.

I loved his approach to risk. According to the book, sometimes, incredible opportunities may come knocking on your door. But it's important first to evaluate the risks and expenses involved. If you are not comfortable investing in it, then it would be better just to leave it.

I also loved the author's style of writing, where he has interviewed different people who have achieved success in their businesses. He has included a set of questions that he asks them, and each of them pours out powerful nuggets of wisdom in their responses. This encourages the readers to achieve their different goals in life. Hearing the words from someone who has been there and done it is everything. I loved Jeff Wobig's statement that the worst that can happen is dying when struggling with a challenging situation. But that's not the worst because if you are in a good relationship with Christ, you are going to heaven. It sounded funny but encouraging to anyone about to quit.

I would recommend the book to readers who love motivational, inspiring, and personal experience stories. Readers in the beginning stages of their business or even those who already have running businesses will find the book helpful. I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited, informative, and inspiring.
