Review of Man Mission
Man Mission, written by Eytan Uliel, is an exciting non-fiction that narrates the life experiences of the author and three of his best friends. Eytan, Sam, Alec, and Dan were close friends in college. They were excited about travelling and exotic cuisine. They fantasized about taking vacations to the most beautiful places in the world. They finally graduated from college. Each of them established their own career. They got into romantic relationships and started their own families. As they engaged in their careers and provided for their families, they encountered a lot of problems. Sometimes, the problems they encountered were overwhelming. One fateful day, Sam called Eytan; they agreed to go on a vacation. This is how the Man Mission began, and it lasted for fifteen years.
Despite their busy schedules, they travelled once a year for the Man Mission. They travelled to different locations all around the world, such as South Korea, Thailand, the United States of America, and Iceland. In each location, they engaged in very strenuous activities. During the trips, they discussed the difficulties they faced in their careers and families. Each of them faced very serious problems in life; did they help each other surmount their problems in life?
I loved this book and could not put it down until the last page. The author's use of flashbacks is impressive. The use of flashbacks usually confuses the audience; however, Eytan employs the technique in such a way that makes the story exciting. The character development is world-class. We are immersed into the lives of the protagonists as they grew from college students into full-blown adults. They went through serious challenges; for instance, Eytan struggled with a very difficult job. The challenges that they experienced improved their characters. We observe the changes in their personalities through their actions and dialogues. This book is exceptionally edited; I did not find any errors in it.
What I love most about this book are the themes. The value of friendship is obviously the major theme of this story. The friendship between Eytan, Alec, Sam, and Dan was simply beautiful. First of all, they had fun with each other. They gave each other great advice, and they supported each other. As well, they challenged each other; Eytan did not want to begin the Man Mission, but Sam motivated him to make the trip to New Zealand. The author's writing style is smooth and enjoyable. Man Mission was a delightful experience.
I was thoroughly satisfied with this book, and I did not find any faults in it. Consequently, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I highly recommend this book to male adults who are facing challenges in their careers and relationships.
