Randall went to an exhibition in the mysterious Zona, but never returned. The team was attacked by the beautiful creatures inhabited by Zona, and only one member remained. The last survivor discovered most of his team's remains, except for three. After his uncle had been missing for a year, Grant inherited his uncle Randall's home in Russia. He came upon clues his uncle had left about the exhibition. Clues that some would’ve preferred to keep secret.

Grant meets the beautiful red-headed Irina, his uncle’s attorney's daughter, and falls in love with her right away. He still kept his secrets to himself because he was unsure of whom he could trust. Irina might still have other agendas after all. Soon, investors planned another exhibition in Zona, and in hopes of finding his uncle, Grant joined them. Irina also joined as an experienced biochemist at her father, Boris's, request. Due to previous attacks by magnificently large mountain lions and werewolves, they implemented extra security measures for the second exhibition. The team quickly realized that these security precautions might still be insufficient, putting them in jeopardy. The scientists also discovered that the plants were capable of more than just blooming. Because their hormones were changing and their emotions were heightened, personal connections and disputes became dangerous. Will the majestic creatures, or their human teams, become a bigger threat in the near future?

The mystical creatures and plants in Zona: The Forbidden Land captivated me. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to be a part of the fantasy or if the horror had scared me away. I liked the movie Avatar, and this novel reminded me of it. It was, however, far less censored and far more interesting. It wasn't too unrealistic, and I wondered if some of it could exist and be true. There was not a single moment in this book where my thoughts wandered. Each new chapter captivated me completely. I also learned a lot about weapons. The book described the use of various guns in great detail, and all of them appeared to be realistic as far as I could tell.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about this book. Reading this novel has only brought me joy.

The editing of this book was exceptional. I discovered no grammatical errors. The ending had the perfect climax, and the characters were well-developed and easy to empathize with. As a result, I give this novel by Fred G. Baker a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Due to some profanity and sexual content, it is best suited for a more mature audience. This story will expand your imagination, and if you're not a regular fantasy or science fiction reader, this could be a good place to start.

I hope you enjoy it! When you understand why it contains sex (at least not too descriptive), it’s definitely forgivable.
