Review of Hemingway's Daughter
Christine M. Whitehead wrote "Hemingway's Daughter." The character of Finn Hemingway, the daughter of one of America's most famous writers, was central to the plot. Her father has been described as wonderful, charming, simple, self-assured, and verbally gifted. Some saw him as a drunken, self-centered man, while others saw the family as a jumble of misfits. Some claimed he was a communist and a sex pervert. While Finn Hemingway appeared to be born into a prosperous family, events made it appear as if she was born into the wrong family, putting her future in jeopardy. The good news was that she had a good relationship with her father, who had raised her with wise guidance. This helped her develop self-esteem. Her father taught her how to manage, survive, and overcome the challenges of life. Despite the odds, she maintained her focus, self-esteem, and optimism. She was able to get through the most difficult time. She studied law during a time when men were more likely to study law than women. Although she may never have set foot in a courtroom as a trial lawyer, she graduated and got a job at Sloan White, one of the largest law firms in New York City. She assisted them in winning some of their legal cases. She first fell in love with Nick Anderson, but he died before she could marry him. She adored Michael Jenner, but he betrayed her. She later met and married millionaire businessman Carter Kane. They had an only child who died as a result of sudden death syndrome. She reached the pinnacle of her career when she was appointed as the first female judge on the New York State Court of Appeals. She sentenced a murderer to life in prison after he raped and killed two Bernard students. Carter Kane died not long after. Then she noticed she'd lived a fulfilled life. Even though Nicky and Carter died, their memories did not. As a result, love can last a lifetime and not end in tragedy.
The positive aspect of this book is that it teaches us that we are the architects of our fate and that we can rewrite our own stories. When there is a will, there is always a way. We must never give up.
The negative aspect of this story is that the lives we lead have an impact on our children's lives, either positively or negatively. Our children may be misjudged. For example, they did not believe Finn's father would have healthy children. People were drawn to her father, and as a result, people were drawn to her as well.
I give these books 3 stars out of 4.
I recommend this book to any adult over the age of eighteen who is dealing with life's difficulties.
