Bonnie’s Adventures in a Storybook World by Kristie Schubert is a children's book that explores personal growth. Bonnie is in eighth grade and is lonely after her move to a new school. She has a great relationship with her parents but can't seem to make friends with anyone else. She takes comfort from escaping into the world of books and immerses herself in stories of all kinds.

One night she falls asleep reading a new novel after a particularly bad day, and she finds herself as part of her book's world. How did she end up in a storybook world? What sort of lessons will she learn?

This book was a good read. It was creative and reminded me of Alice in Wonderland while including many good character lessons for children. Bonnie's adventures in the storybook worlds often mirrored her experiences in real life and provided insights she otherwise wouldn't have had.

I enjoyed Bonnie's interactions with her parents. Their relationships felt realistic and relatable. I also liked the creativeness of the story. For example, in the candy story section there was a character named Halloween Henry who was made from Halloween candy that no one wanted. This was a fun idea for this character.

Unfortunately, I did find quite a few errors throughout the book. There were a few chapters where there was no transition between chapters. One would end in what felt like the middle of a conversation, and the next chapter would begin days later. It could use a thorough editing.

Overall, I'm rating Bonnie’s Adventures in a Storybook World by Kristie Schubert a 3 out of 4 stars. While I enjoyed the creativity and the valuable character lessons, the number of errors and lack of smooth transitions detracted from the work for me. This story would be a great read for older children and young adults, and it could be read aloud to younger children.
