Review of Legacy
Enter a world, in the not too distant future, that is free of the dreaded threat of nuclear war. Under the world’s combined governments, ensuring all nuclear weapons are decommissioned as a prevention of further disaster. It therefore comes as an enormous shock when a nuclear explosion is detected in the Mojave Desert, with power failures experienced all across America. In Las Vegas we find our eight heroes, all experiencing the effects of the nuclear aftermath in one way or the other, ultimately finding their way together using their very different skills and equally matched intelligence. With a warning from the future that encourages the unlikely group to combine their smarts, to uncover the culprits behind the destruction, on a mission that takes them to the moon and beyond. Join them as they uncover the long forgotten origins of the human race, while preventing the annihilation of civilization on earth as we know it.
Legacy is an excellent edition to the science fiction genre, effortlessly balancing suspense, intrigue, fantasy and humor, bringing these elements together in a beautifully written novel by author Sean T. Smith. With great finesse Smith writes the words off the pages, igniting the imagination of the reader, creating that classic ‘page turner’ ascetic, that keeps the reader enthralled.
There are many positive aspects in this novel, the editing has been well moderated with little errors to be noted. There is an immersive storyline and a great deal of character development, opening the minds of the readers to possibilities beyond the every day thinking. Although there are negative aspects to remark on, such as; the sudden urgency in the later chapters to assemble our eight heroes and the other being Legacyis first in a series of books, it would appear that the author kept this in mind, for niether is enough to take away from the pleasure of reading the novel.
In conclusion, I hereby rateLegacy4 out of 4 stars. Author, Sean T. Smith, delivers a remarkably well written novel. Smith’s decision to leave the business world behind and become an author was the wisest decision he could have made, as he is made to write.
A highly recommended read, for target audience of a more mature nature, as there are moments not recommended for sensitive readers. However with the splendid use of vocabulary, the entire plot inspires the reader to learn and expand their mind through imagination. This novel makes a great addition to any sci-fi lovers collection and instills anticipation in the reader to keep a look out for the sequel.
