Are you happy in your soul? Are you leading your dream life? Are you living your life to the fullest? If not, then From Drift to SHIFT, written by Jody B.Miller, is the perfect book for you.

At the beginning of this book, the author asked some questions to the readers like “Why do we stay in professional and personal situations that we loathe?”, “Is it a fear of risking the unknown?”. These questions gave a reality check to the readers and help them for self analyzation. It is believed that we were happy as kids. We were without any fear. We just had to watch the activities. But what happened after that? Why are we not happy now? The author makes the readers realize their happiness. The author shared her personal story to show how important it is to make a shift in life. She also shared the story of people like Serita, Reid, Emilee, Andy Wirth, Jerry Colonna, Manoj Chalam, and many more. These people made a huge shift in their lives. The author pointed out the need for shifting life and people’s fear of changing their habits. The author not only spoke of the problems but also gave the solutions. She described how to make a change in life, the consequences of the shift, and what to do after that shift.

The author discussed the researches of Harvard, Dr. Maxwell Maltz, Joseph M. Carver to prove her points. This can make readers trust to believe the author’s factual information. Every line of this book is inspirational. My favorite line is (Pg 34, line 12) “You are unique and are meant to do amazing things.” I also like the structure of this book. Every part of this book is divided into stories, the author’s observations, and a summary of that chapter. The simple stories quoted in the book make it more engaging for the readers. The summary in this book helps the readers to instantly revise the concepts they have read in the chapter. The author’s way of writing is also commendable. It seems as if she is talking to the readers.

There’s nothing that I disliked in this book. There are no grammatical errors and sexual content in this book.

Considering the purpose of this book, questions for self analyzation, the structure of this book, simple stories, summary, and the author’s way of writing, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I am rating it 4 stars because this is an exceptionally well-edited book, and I enjoyed reading it.

I recommend this book to all the readers who want to make a shift or change in their lives. If teenagers will read this book, it will be beneficial for them as they can understand life better. It is not written in hardcore English, so it is easy for everyone to understand. Anyone who feels a need to make a change in their life but is afraid of taking a step should definitely check out this book.
