Review of Why Can't Johnny Just Quit?
Overtime and excessive drinking can lead to the development of persistent illness and other serious issues, including: stroke, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Today, human beings drink a lot of alcohol, as if this is the only way to live a free and happy life, forgetting that alcohol will only last for that moment. If you abuse it, it will slowly kill you. The fact is that heavy drinking can harm your health. Why Can't Johnny Just Quit? is a non-fiction novel written by Kyle Oh, MD. The author cares about the functional capacity of patients and their quality of life, which is why he wrote such a clinical book. So far, this is an instructive book detailing the main points of the author's journey as a pain management specialist. The book is neatly written and professionally edited. The writing is elegant and professional. There are no glaring mistakes in the book, which means there's clearly nothing to improve. By perusing the book, you will notice that at the end of the book, Dr. Oh includes some useful, properly written patients case studies to illustrate his message to audience.
I like the cover and amazing layout of the book. There is a slight confusion between the title of the book and the subject of the book. However, this did not disturb my reading pleasure. This book opened my eyes and taught me a lot about addiction. I like that the book basically points out the psychology behind chronic drug use, the society and many misunderstandings of chronic drug use by drug users.
When the author emphasized about the long-term drug use and addiction is due to sexual abuse, I was a little confused. I certainly disagree with his statement, because there are many things that can cause young people to take drugs, and one of the main factors leading to young people taking drugs is peer pressure. The most interesting part is that, according to the author, you may become addicted to painkillers.
Providing drug addicts with counseling and rehabilitation services would be a very wise move. It would educate them to stop long-term drug use, rather than just punish them as punishment for abuse. I rate Why Can't Johnny Just Quit? by Kyle Oh, MD with four out of four stars. The book is well-written. The book is error-free and fluent.
This book is composed of seventeen chapters, which are elegantly written and detailed with very serious issues. This enlightening self-improvement handbook refutes this practice because it explains why people who use drugs and alcohol should not be punished, yet counseling and help should be provided to them.
This will be a very good book for those who want to learn more about addiction prevention measures. As a pain management expert, he meets people who are trying to get rid of drug addiction, but they find it difficult to stop. I highly recommend this book to anybody dealing with addiction, and to people working at the rehabilitation centre.
