A Long Dark Rainbow by Michael Tappenden is a charming erotic novel. The book introduces the main character, Alexander James. He is a retired gentleman who has had a successful career as a historian. Alexander is an artist and lives in a very untidy single flat. Alexander is old and single by choice. He meets Samantha Regan, who is also a divorced single lady. They met at a charity shop where she worked as a volunteer. Both Alexander and Samantha are in their 70's. They are two aged people with gloomy pasts. When he was young, Alexander was in a relationship with Racheal. He had twin babies, Georgia and Jak. The newborn twins were taken away from Alexander and Racheal for adoption. Racheal was his young girlfriend. Samantha is a divorcee who was in a previous relationship with Henry. It is an extraordinary exploration of a developing relationship between the two lead characters. Reading this novel, I have concluded that age is just a number. I cherished how the author brought out a love story of two aged people who flourished.
The book is impressive. The plot and the choice of words are incredible. The flow of the story is tremendous. This erotic novel is well penned and is an easy book to read. It has a good vocabulary. The author's delivery of Alexander's characteristics is good. In addition, he describes the characters' behaviors appropriately. I assimilate Alexander's behavior well. I apprehend Alexander and his untidiness. I liked how the author delivered the genesis of this enchanting love story and its advancement. The book is generally well-edited.
The book begins on a low note. On the other hand, the progression of the book got better. By and large, there was nothing I could criticize in this romantic book. I loved this book all in all. What has left me dazzled is how this book comes to an abrupt end. I would be pleased if the author lengthened the story by a few chapters to an impressive finish.
The book is interesting, and I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars. It is a book that is easy to read. The structure and flow of the storyline are interesting. I would recommend this book to mature readers. It is an exquisite book. The book contains some profanity and obscenity, and if any, it is at a considerable rate. The book demonstrates that love is eternal and has no bounds. This book does not have any mistakes.
