The novel begins by telling us the date, the month and the year in which the author was born. when she was being born, her mother was 17 years old and her father was 18 years old. Her father served as a marine. when she was three years old her parents divorced. Meaning her by the time they were divorcing, Mary was 20 years old and David was 21 years old. Since then the author has lived with her grandparents. In this novel, she mentions her extended family. Her interest in bodybuilding developed at a young age. In addition, the author was also good in academics and, always had good grades. She transferred the energy of academics into sports and wanted to win. Apart from bodybuilding, she was in a skateboard team. The novel Beneath the Muscle by Lauren Powers has four parts. Part one has three chapters. part two and three each have five chapters. Lastly, part four has four chapters.

This novel is an inspiration to anyone who will read it. Despite living a life with her parents divorced, she managed to achieve her goals. I also like the author social skills. This novel has been presented in a good manner. The author shared her story to help others achieve their dreams. This novel has interesting quotes. I gained knowledge from reading it. I also learned some social skills. My imagination was altered hence I had images in my mind. I also like how pictures have been used in this novel. The sense of humour is good. I was not bored while reading it. I also learned that body has a lot of advantages. The use of flashbacks by pictures is nice.

I didn't like how the author never used or failed to use foreshadowing. The author should also introduce some suspense in this novel.

I will award this novel a rating of four out of four stars. It is professionally edited. I did not identify any profanity. The grammar used is simple and easy to understand. I did not notice any typos. There is zero level use of vulgar words. The reason why I gave all four out four stars is that it is inspiring, it did not deviate from its topic and above all, I was entered.

I will suggest this novel be read. It is inspiring and motivating. The main topic of concern is bodybuilding. I will dedicate this novel to people who want to be role models and bodybuilders both male and female.
