The book Stone of Gabriel is the perfect addicting read. The story of Kurt’s journey was an exciting and adventurous from the young teens point of view. The mix of reality with a touch of science fiction made it hard to put down. The story evolves with intensity and drama that put right in the middle of the action and wanting more. Taking you through the struggles and choices of the characters made the story come to life.

The book was very easy to get into and starts with lots curiosity. I loved the lessons that the characters learn and how they grow throughout their journey's separately and together. The story feels real and genuine with the problems and decisions they must face. The story line is light, but with Kurt’s heartfelt actions you feel the intensity of his character. The two character points of views are easy to follow and create more depth of the characters. The book gives great details of emotions and a creative narrative. The ending of twists and turns that you never see coming are the perfect ending.

The backstory of the stones could have been more detailed because I was left wanting more answers and story lines. I felt left on a bit of cliffhanger wanting either more story or even more books to follow to give the readers more understanding. The school bully situation felt very authentic but felt unresolved in the end. The conclusion felt a little rushed and non emotional compared to the rest of the story line. The main characters feelings and inner thoughts could have been more detailed. I would have loved more action and information from the heroes of what was going through their minds, really draw out the climax deeper.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Gary Pattillo did an amazing job bring these characters to life. The book was well edited and had clear story lines, the story had great details and a deep plot to hold your attention. The Stone of Gabriel was an exhilarating book that keeps you wanting more.

This is a great read for a young teen looking for a relatable science fiction book. It is a striking story that isn’t difficult to follow. This is a great start to you book collection, especially for a teen boy to relate to. A perfect lightsome weekend read to finish in just 23 chapters.
