Manifesto for a Cancer Patient by Colleen Huber, NMD, is a non-fictional book that talks about cancer, a devastating disease that has plagued humans. It also talks about the types, symptoms, and causes of cancer. The book explained how naturopathy is a more effective and safer means of treating cancer patients. The book condemns the use of chemotherapy because of its adverse side effects on human health and the huge financial benefits made by doctors. For instance, chemotherapy treatment causes loss of hair. This story talks about the writer’s success and the challenges encountered during the earlier years of her career.

According to the book, the author, who is privileged to own a Naturopathy clinic in the United States of America, has been using alternative medicine for treating cancer for the past eleven years and has proven huge success through the detailed data records present in the book. She has used diet, exercise, and essential vitamins to save her patients from this life-threatening disease. For example, in diet treatment, she strictly advised her patients not to take sweeteners except stevia, as sugar assists the growth of cancer. Also, she mentioned we should administer a high dose of vitamin C to repair and strengthen the body tissue.

I admire the writer’s transparency and kindness when treating her patients. For me, the book is educative and informative. For example, the author mentioned that excessive intake of sugar could be detrimental to the body system, be it, cancer patients or cancer-free patients. This strongly convinced me I need to limit my sugar intake for better health status.

The book is interesting, easy to understand, and shows the writer’s accountability. The author’s use of medical terminologies did not affect my enjoyment of the book, rather, I saw it as an opportunity to learn unfamiliar words, as I made a research about those words. I like the fact that each chapter of the book began with a heading, which prepares the reader’s mind of what to expect in the paragraphs. Also, the references at the end of the book show the intense research the writer made to write the book. This is what I love most about this book.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is professionally edited. There was nothing I disliked about this book. The book is a wow for me. I would recommend this book to doctors, cancer patients who prefer natural medicine as a remedy for treatment, and to those who love medicine books.
