Review of Randy the Irresistible
Randy the Irresistible by S M Goodier will introduce a handsome and appealing guy named Randy to the readers. He was a man who always did the tricky things for his advantage, even if these did not conform to the value of honesty. Because he always did the unreasonable things, there were several unlucky events that came to his life. This handsome guy had many flaws in his character, and one of them was egocentricity. He was blessed with appealing physical appearance that gave him the ability to lure many women, but this asset didn’t bring him luck but sometimes disaster. Some graces that had been showered by God to him were canniness, smartness and wittiness. However, his lack of self-discipline had brought him to trouble. All the excellent abilities of Randy could not outsmart the outcome by his being self-centered.
Because most of the events in the story were described in a lively way, I had enjoyed reading this book. A tinge of humor in most of the scenes had brightened my day. The book narrated the humorous scenes in a creative way; thus, making them more beautiful and appealing. Although the story was trivial and had many funny scenes, it had a hidden message that had a profound meaning. I liked this book, because it had taught me a lot of lesson in life. I had learned that having no self-control and self-discipline will make your life deplorable. It had taught me never to step out from the queuing line of wholesome people, or else I will find it hard to go back, for they will not let me insert within the line again, so I had to go back to the rear part. The undesirable character of this protagonist had inspired me to avoid conceitedness, egocentricity and wasteful hobbies. I rather did the right and reasonable things. This story had taught me to have empathy, so that I will be blessed by the Lord, and there was no way for me to experience trouble that might bring great misfortune in my life.
There was nothing I liked least in this book; it had a valuable message that heralded an important lesson. The golden rule: “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you” was the best lesson of this story.
This book will likely be appealing to the readers who wanted to succeed in life. In order to be blessed, they must have concern to their fellow men. They must also avoid wasteful hobbies and spend time wisely, instead of hanging and drinking with friends, for this will make their lives more organize and productive. This story will make them contemplate of the worthwhile daily activities that could lead them to the right trail.
This was a nice book that could give enjoyment and entertainment to readers. Every event had been described in an interesting and understandable way, so that there was nothing missed, and everything was exactly interpreted and appreciated. Though it was not excellent, this reading material was good, and so I rated it 3 out of 4 stars. There were some grammatical errors, and that was the other reason that I could not give a perfect rating.
