Review of Ark of the Apocalypse
Humans are the most destructive force on earth, but what happens when their destruction kills the world? Ark of the Apocalypse, written by Tobin Marks, takes us through this scenario. The earth is in desperate need of water and the human race will die out if they don’t change their ways. A selected few group together to create the Magellan II. This magnificent creation would be able to transport humans to a water planet in another galaxy. As tensions escalate on earth for the control of the limited resources, their only option is to take to the stars. There is no time to waste if there is hope of saving human kind.
The line between reality and fiction was walked perfectly throughout this book. It is very clear that every detail has been thoroughly researched and this only enhances the reading experience. Each character is unique and well detailed. The character development for each of them was clearly well thought out and it felt like I was growing with them. The writing was not overly descriptive and I didn’t feel like I was wasting time reading about unnecessary things. I felt like I was there beside the characters, watching the events unfold in real time. This book was so well edited. It was action packed in my opinion, because it kept my attention from the first page to the last. It’s definitely the kind of book that I had a hard time putting down.
There is some profanity found in the book. If you are sensitive to this, this book might not be a good fit for you. Personally, I felt like the language was placed perfectly to enhance the scenes it was used in. I also think that the characters who used the language were on point. It only made me feel the tension of those situations more and connected me to their emotions on a personal level.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The anticipation was built up so gracefully that I didn’t even realize that I’d been reading for hours. I found everything about this book outstanding. There was not one loose end that needed tying up. It pulled my emotions in so much that I teared up in some scenes. This is a good book and it would deserves nothing less than a four.
I would recommend this book to those who love fantasy, action packed scenes and those who often wonder about the future of mankind. I’ve already recommended this to my friends and family and I would definitely recommend it to you.
