Job seekers out there are in plenty. To get one who is dedicated to growing oneself, the organization, and their colleagues is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Once you get that gem, growth will be noted in your institution or department. For any bosses looking to improve their subordinates’ attitude and any working individual looking for self-improvement in their work environment, this is your book.

The Pro-achievement Principle Cultivating Personal Skills for Effective Teams by Dr. Deborah S. Bright, is a book solely focusing on a few effective principles that can be applied in the work setting. The book, being less than 150 pages long, is short enough to be read in one go. Dr. Deborah explicitly explains the core of organizational success with the focus being on the pro achievement principles, which are deeply and thoroughly explained. This is a book that will make you want to start on its ideas immediately because of how convincing her methods are. The emphasis is mostly on leadership and how well a leader can stir the boat in the right direction with the tips that she has noted. A worker who is not necessarily a leader can get a few improvement guidelines, too, on how to approach given situations and resolve challenges.

I like how Dr. Deborah has used relatable examples throughout the book. She keeps dropping some real-life scenarios and the methods to apply on the same. Her work is arranged in a step-by-step manner with subtitles in each issue, which makes it easier for a reader to follow through.

The only downside I experience while reading the book is the use of a lot of vocabulary and terminologies. If you are of a curious mind, searching for the meaning of new words will be lag, and the book will be tedious reading. Nevertheless, is a necessary evil. Other than that, the book was outstandingly edited. I could note no error.

I would give the book 3 out of 4 stars. I would have given it a four out of four, but due to the language used, it did not make my reading smooth. But for one who is well versed with deep business terminologies, you may find it a joy ride.

For those looking for an attitude changer, this is the book for you. I would insist, this is a must-read for all kinds of leaders and those aiming for leadership positions.
