The title of this book got me curious. I mean who names their child Randy? Randy the Irresistible by S.M Goodier follows the life of Randy, the unexpected and not fitting to plan son of John and Marjorie Love. Randy was a self-absorbed, witty, and manipulative young chap. With his good looks and manipulative ways, he never runs out of women to take care of him. His father, john love, and his father’s friend Michael never cease to tease him and set him straight as Randy had a knack for getting into trouble. John and Marjorie love would have loved for Randy to be educated like his siblings but he seemed to have other plans for himself and was not willing to stop until he achieved it, this took him straight to London. Randy though hardworking and usually the boss’ best employee at work, seem to lack common sense about other things. As a result of this, he made a lot of decisions, some wise, most of them, stupid and his inability to work with a plan made him keep getting into trouble. Randy will keep you asking yourself why common sense is not common. Whatever happened to Randy? Find out in the amazing book, Randy the Irresistible.

S.M Goodier’s Randy the irresistible is an exciting and amusing book, no doubt a good read. From the moment I picked up the book, I was curious as to what became of Randy that hastened my speed in reading the book. The book has a lot of merit to it, the choice of narrating style was laidback and calm, even the page layout, yet it was exciting. If there is one thing about the book, it fuels your curiosity, even from the title.

Furthermore, I love the way the characters were introduced to us, it was subtle, yet you would remember them as every character was important, there was some sort of lesson or insight to learn from every character Randy met with and every character had a resolution.

Randy the Irresistible piqued my interest from the onset, however, although it was a great book, it didn't match the excitement promised in the blurb.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars I enjoyed reading the book, it has a great plot and my curiosity was substantially satisfied at the end. However, the book was not as spicy as I thought it would be but I had a good laugh while reading.

I recommend this book to mature readers, basically anyone with an open mind that wants to read a good book.
